Jolley Holding Aruba VBA
History
The Unity Synod of the Moravian Church held in Bethlehem P.A. decided in July 1957 that the Moravian Church Foundation (MCF) should establishe an enterprise in the Netherlands Antilles.
In implementing the 1957 Unity Synod decision, the MCF purchased the shares of Jolley Handelmaatschappij, a company established in 1938 by Mr. Armand de Rooy.
The MCF expanded it’s business activities on Curacao and Aruba by establishing and purchasing other enterprises.
Eventually all enterprises where transferred to a holding company called Jolley Holding N.V. At a later stage the Aruban Enterprises were transferred to Jolley Holding Aruba N.V. and the name of the Holding on Curacao was adjusted into Jolley Holding Curacao N.V. As of December 14, 2017, the two Jolley Holdings have been merged. The name of the current holding following the merger is Jolley Holding Aruba VBA.

This provides Aruba with a high level of local autonomy whereby only foreign affairs and defense are the responsibility of the Dutch government.
